Man's best friend. Always there. In good times and bad times ... Ruff!
' Yup! Babymouse is dreaming of a pup ... who comes to her aid when she's drowning. '
Blink!
' Babymouse comes back to the real world at the breakfast table, as Mom makes plans to bring her to the pet store to get a new fish. Fish! Babymouse hasn't had good fortune with fishy pets (she's had fish named
Goldy
in numbers 1 through 5), nor with other pets for that matter.
B
abymouse dreams of a cat, or perhaps a pig like Wilbur in the story of
Charlotte's Web
. A visit after school to the
Purrfect Pets
shop, and her eyes turn into heart-shapes as she spies the puppies, and thinks of Charlie Brown's dog Snoopy, and Mickey Mouse with Pluto. But first Mom suggests Babymouse try out a pet hamster, then a turtle, then a ferret - and on and on.
J
ennifer Holm and Matthew Holm, creators of the
Babymouse
series, again win young hearts with their heroine's role in
Puppy Love
. A splendid adventure - of attraction to a pup, ownership, caring for it, and walking it (so to speak) - awaits youngsters in
Babymouse
#8 - a doggone good canine caper!
