B
enjamin is a
bouncy
bear who loves to spend time with his many animal friends. He keeps hurting their feelings, however, when he forgets his manners. In this second book in the series (following
Benjamin Bear Says Sorry
), Benjamin forgets to say thank you after friends fetch his ball in the woods, give him bread to feed the ducks, and give up their swing at the park. In the end, though, constant reminding helps Benjamin learn better manners.
T
he cute illustrations in this picture book have a fun summery feel. Benjamin's learning by repetition will be helpful to toddlers as Benjamin conquers the same manners problems they might have. My only issue (for a North American audience) with this specific volume is the heavy use of British phrases such as
have a go
and
fancy a game
. But if you don't mind a little bit of explaining, this will be a fun read to share with a little one.
