The title says it all: this book is a composite of silly rhymes on unrelated topics, incorporating both Spanish and English into each little poem. The Spanish translation can be gleaned from the context of the sentence.

Some examples:
'When you take a nap, it's una siesta.
When you throw a party, it's una fiesta.
It would be best
To get a short rest,
So before la fiesta, siesta!

Soy beans, soy beans,
Eat them with beef or ham.
But soy, in Spanish, isn't beans.
Instead it means "I am."
'

The simple illustrations will provide a visual aid for children to pick up a few basic Spanish words, and a glossary of over fifty translations is provided at the end. Another good children's picture book that combines Spanish and English words is Bebe Goes Shopping by Susan Middleton Elya.
