It begins as Daddy enters his baby's room and begins dispensing hugs. Number 1 is an '"I'm so glad you're my Baby!" hug', followed by 'two teeny, tiny finger hugs'. There are hugs along with a pat and burp, hugs to celebrate success, give solace for boo-boos, playful hugs, comfort hugs - and finally (and best of all) ten bedtime 'I love you' hugs. Karen Katz's colorful illustrations show close-ups of the emotion a father feels for his infant, and the joy they share in Daddy Hugs.
