In this book, a child has an idea to build a clubhouse, and calls all of his friends, who are willing participants in the plan. In a singsong tone, this book introduces children to the necessary tools to build the clubhouse, followed by additional information about that particular tool at the bottom of each page, as well as helpful illustrations and diagrams of each tool. An example: 'Who's got the level? Kevin's got the level. Gotta check the level before the house is built. If the bubble's in the middle, then the walls won't tilt.' 'A level is a metal, wood, or plastic case that has a tube with a bubble inside. Put the level on or against a floor or wall. If the bubble is right in the center of the tube, then the floor or wall is perfectly flat or straight.' The illustrations show children (older than those to whom the book is geared) working together for a common purpose, and of course, with parental supervision. This helpful how-to book is a great introduction to the building process for young children.
