here are many versions of this funny song in picture book format. This
lift-the-flap
picture book is one that gave my children and I great pleasure together. We often sang
I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly
, as we giggled at the antics of all the swallowed critters being collected under the flap of the old lady's ample apron. The illustrations accentuate the humor.

hey have a great time in there: greeting each other, playing '
Go fish
', singing '
Old Macdonald
', reading '
Old Mother Hubbard
', knitting and even playing soccer. The traditional ending is modified for little ones so that, after she swallowed the horse, the old lady '

' and then happily waved goodbye to the fly, who began it all. But don't you still '
