ight-year-old Catherine Corey Kegan Dana (everyone calls her Keeker) wants a pony more than anything. Plum the pony doesn't want a little girl at all, but the farmer takes Plum to live with Keeker and be her very own little pony.
A
t first Keeker doesn't try to ride Plum, but she spends time with her so the pony will get to know her. Plum thinks Keeker is very nosy, watching her eat and eat and eat. When it is time to ride Plum, she leads Keeker on a merry chase until Keeker's dad comes to help her saddle up. A ride down the road turns into a walk in the woods where Plum uses a chipmunk to rid herself of her little girl and runs away. In the end Keeker finds out what Plum needs and Plum decides having a little girl isn't so terrible, especially if she is like Keeker.

his is the first book in the
Sneaky Pony Series
, in which Keeker and Plum share starring roles. This humorous story of their first adventure will appeal to readers aged four and up. Higginson adds some interesting and fun to know facts about ponies at the end of the story.
