McElderry, 2006 (2006) Hardcover      Reviewed by Hilary Williamson A cat is trying to put her sleepyhead kitten to bed in this sweet story in verse - 'Your teeth are brushed, / your book is read. / Go to sleep. It's time for bed. / One more book, says Sleepyhead.' (I love the myriad of books strewn across the small feline's floor!) On it goes in a sequence familiar to all parents, as Sleepyhead demands just one more hug, one more kiss, one more drink, 'One more teddy, one more snuggle. One more comfy, cozy cuddle.' And, as always happens, despite that busy, resisting mind, the kitten finally succumbs to the sandman. I loved Karma Wilson's endearing rhymes, and appreciated the style of illustrations - reminiscent of the work of Richard McClure Scarry - and the fact that they reflected the little one's imagination, repeating elements of the drawings in the books the small cat read.
