here Is My Mommy?
is aimed at little ones aged 1 to 4. It's the kind of warm and comforting picture book that is perfect for bedtime reading - even the illustrations are soft and calm. Though much simpler, it reminded me a little of Margaret Wise Brown's endearing
Runaway Bunny

n this one, Mommy is never far from the side of a succession of baby animals, from a bunny ('
She's waking me up
') through a small skunk, birds, a chipmunk, a puppy, and a kitten ('
She's waiting for me
'). My favorite is the chipmunk ('
She's playing with me.
')
A
ll these infant/mother interactions take us through an infant's waking activities and they finish with a picture of a small boy reaching for his mother ('
Mommy is here!
')
Where Is My Mommy?
is heartwarming for adults and reassuring for little ones - just the right thing to help them get to sleep!
