One bear all alone / Sitting by the telephone.
' So begins a delightful picture book for small readers who will delight in counting the bears on each page, and identifying all the other elements of each colorful situation. Through the course of a day, the reader participates in the activities of 1, 2, 3 ... up to 10 active teddy bears; empathizes with their pleasure and with their minor mishaps.
O
f course friends come to call on that little bear waiting anxiously by the phone. Together (adding more friends en route), they take the train to the seaside, visit the zoo, climb a tree, shop in a candy store (my kids and I used to enjoy picking our own favorites from this page of scrumptious treats), eat too many cakes and suffer the consequences, bathe and finally go to bed ... '
Can you count each sleepy head?

U
nfortunately this picture book seems to be out of print, but is still available second hand. I recommend it to all teddy bear lovers and their little ones.
