Pooch's New Raincoat: Board Book & Plush    by Jane Gerver & Michelle Berg Order:  USA  Can Little, Brown & Co., 2006 (2006)     Reviewed by Hilary Williamson This adorable package from Alex Toys includes a board book and a small plush pooch, whose red plastic raincoat is ready and waiting for little hands to decorate with stickers (tucked into the book are 5 each of strawberries, hearts, feathers, flowers and leaves). The sweet story commences, 'Rain is falling. The wind is blowing. / Pooch puts on a jacket. Where is he going? To the park!' He looks a little sad, and a series of friends cheer him up. Bird proffers a big leaf, Bunny a sunflower. Chipmunk shares a strawberry, Duck a feather. The sun comes out and Pooch feels happier, heading home with all his presents - on the way, he's given another, very special gift. This cute board book ends, 'So now that Pooch's tale is done, / put stickers on his jacket for extra fun!' Wee ones will love to hug Pooch and attach gifts to his red jacket as they turn the pages of Pooch's New Raincoat.
