Read this book to find out what happens next!' in Jeff Newman's funny story of mistaken identity, illustrated in zany watercolors. Rather eccentric looking people (whose depiction reminded me of a cross between Daumier's and Picasso's art) pass by, saying Hippo to each other. 'No, Rhino!' is the emphatic response from the critter they're regarding, 'Fix the Sign-O!' The birds try to move the sign, without success, and more strangers get scared off by Rhino's anger at being mistaken for his hornless cousin. Then a smart visitor shows up, sees and fixes the mistake ... but in the meantime, the zookeeper's made yet another! Kids will enjoy watching adults repeatedly get it wrong, and will yell at them along with the majestic animal, Hippo! No, Rhino!
