an Falconer's beloved (and determined) piglet Olivia is back in
Olivia Forms a Band
, illustrated in the author/artist's trademark colors - black and white, red and blue.
O
livia's mother is packing up a picnic to take along to a fireworks show. Strong-willed (some might call it pig-headed) Olivia announces that '
you can't have fireworks without a band
' and, getting no support from other family members, sets out to set up a
one-pig band
. She ransacks the kitchen cupboards and bribes a small sibling to borrow musical toys. She even takes something from her dad.
S
he makes lots of noise! To Olivia (though not to her family) '
she sounded just like a real band
' (a fold-out sheet of her '
Tempo marziale
' music is included). The picnic is delicious, the fireworks are beautiful, and there's even a late night, unplanned musical (sort of) encore that will make moms everywhere sigh in recognition. Olivia is priceless!
