T
he title of the book says it all. Paintings by famous women artists, such as Grandma Moses, Georgia O'Keeffe, Mary Cassatt and Faith Ringgold, are reproduced in this lovely volume. The women artists represented are as varied as they come - which is the point of the book, as well as to give exposure to the arts at an early age.
E
ach of the paintings selected is accompanied by questions intended to promote discussion between the reader and the child, either about the painting itself or about how the painting relates to the child. There are also brief biographies of each women artist and their artistic style, as well as a short explanation of each reproduced painting. This book is sure to be inspirational to any young budding artist.
O
ther books in this series include
