This one - aimed at Level 1 Reading - begins with a simple glossary of some of the less familiar words inside, like claw and momument, as well as a STATEtistics page on Utah. Then we meet Buster practicing his roars, before setting out on a trip with his dad to dinosaur country and the Dinosaur National Monument. In between pages on the story of the trip are Buster's postcards home, telling his friends the things he is learning - like the fact that an ocean once covered Utah. This excellent series combines the familiarity of Buster and his friends with fact-finding adventures. Books are offered at three levels of reading - 1 with recognizable words and simple sentences; 2 with an increased vocabulary and longer sentences; and 3 with more complex stories.
