How Do I Love You? is a sweet 'I love you' picture book, in verse, expressing a parent's unconditional, limitless love for her child.

This spin on Elizabeth Barrett Browning's 'How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the Ways' features a mother (or perhaps a father) crocodile and her (or his) baby. The mother crocodile counts the ways in which she loves her child. Even though she counts to twenty in the book, she concludes that there is no number high enough to express the degree of love she feels for her baby croc: 'For if I started counting now until forevermore, as big as that last number was, I'd love you plus one more.'

McCue, whose numerous illustrations include the Corduroy series, does not disappoint. The borders surrounding the pages are brightly colored, lending to the happy feel of the book's message. The crocodiles are adorable and expressive, and the use of animals shows that the bond between parents and their offspring is universal.
