I
think this author's been a fly on the wall in my home - or perhaps she's just captured what drives parents nuts in every home, the many variations on that dreaded response, '
In a minute.
'
J
ack the Yak has an offer for the other animals: '
Hop on my back ... I'll take you to the fair
'. But no-one is ready. The ferrets are dining on apples, the crabs are building a splendid sandcastle, the foxes are running, the pigs are making hay, the escargots are having tea, the monkeys are scratching, the seals are snoozing, the caterpillars are all tied up, and the birdies are busy. Jack is discouraged.
B
ut of course it all works out. Jack counts his passengers as they hop on in a
free-for-all
grand finale that kids will love. It's a cute, topical story about a goofy, charmingly illustrated hero, and readers young and old will feel for Jack's efforts to get the gang moving to the fair. You'll enjoy
One Yak Called Jack
