T
he adorable Brassy reminds me of my sons' favorite character when they were smaller,
Thomas the Tank Engine
. Captain Bill is very pleased with his new fire engine, saying, '
He's not very big ... but he is bright and shining.
' The firefighters welcome him, paint the number '
4
' on each door, and clang his big brass bell.
B
ut firehouse life involves work as well as fun, when '
Brassy would puff and grind to pump the water through the hoses and onto the fire.
' We hear about many different occasions when the firemen and Brassy are called out, and see his reactions on his expressive face. Brassy and Captain Bill become good friends over the years. Then, newer and bigger fire engines show up and are put up front. Brassy is transferred to a '
dark and dusty
' firehouse.
B
ut one day there's a big fire that puts the whole city at risk. Can you guess who saves the day? And of course Brassy is reunited with Captain Bill too.
Brassy The Fire Engine Saves the City
is a delightful story that showcases the bravery of the men and women who fight fires every day.
