We are told that What Does Peace Feel Like? is by 'V. Radunsky and children just like you from around the world'. The text in this picture book is taken from the words of children (aged 8 to 10) who attend the Ambrit International School in Rome, and it mentions that the publisher will donate 2% of the net proceeds to CARE.

The book opens with words for peace in many languages, then asks a series of questions, starting with 'What does peace smell like?', with various responses that children made to each. We hear that peace looks 'like something beautiful that goes away but will come back'; that it sounds 'like everyone's heart beating, making one big sound together'; that it tastes like all kinds of ice cream flavors (a clear consensus on that one!); and that it feels like 'hugs your friends give you when you cry'.

What Does Peace Feel Like? ends with 'Just imagine what we could build with peace' and 'Peace and love to everyone'. Finally there are close to 200 'Words of Peace' in world languages, from 'olakamigenoka' (in Abenaki) to 'Ukuthula' in Zulu.
