e want to talk to Léo le Chat (Léo the cat), but he only speaks French. Luckily, this picture book suggests what to say to him and what the words mean. We can translate Léo's replies to English by opening up flaps. We learn words like
Oui
,
Non
,
Bonjour
, and
Merci
, and phrases like '
Suis-moi
', '
Je ne peux pas
' and '
Au revoir
'. Léo skateboards recklessly and we try to tell him to be careful, but he falls anyway - '
Pauvre Léo! Poor Léo!
'. Of course, it all works out in the end.
L
éo le Chat comes to Play!
introduces simple French words and phrases while the reader chats with this engaging cat. At the beginning, there's advice on how to encourage kids to learn the French that's introduced here. And there's a helpful pronunciation guide at the end, as well as instructions to play the game '
follow my leader
' in French ('
Suis-Moi!
'). Share this picture book with children, to encourage them to start speaking in French.
