O
ne pear, three pears ... a pear tree. The concepts of
One Some Many
(now available in a board book edition) are clearly conveyed through bright, primal colors - with just a tinge of humor in a mostly eaten pear that conveys '
hardly any
'.
Y
oung mathematicians learn through floral examples that '
a few is more than two
'. Then basic numbers and addition are illustrated up to ten (windows in a house). This unusual counting picture book comes full circle back to one again with a moon in a window ('
one is only one
').
O
ne Some Many
is straightforward, but different from the usual counting books in that it introduces simple quantity concepts (few, some, many). This makes it a very good choice for teaching early numbers.
