Ruth Symons' Bedtime Book for Bump is intended to be read to an unborn child and opens with a discussion of The benefits of reading to your bump' during pregnancy. The book includes a page to write to the baby before birth and another for a dedication to them. Anneli Bray's adorable illustrations follow - of all kinds of pregnant mothers from the animal kingdom. Lyrical text accompanies them, beginning 'Little One, this book's for you, / I'll read it loud and clear. / For though we haven't met you yet, ... I know that you can hear.' We see parental bears, elephants, penguins, whales, and many more. This would make a lovely gift for parents to start reading to their own amazing, developing bump.
