The series stars Gabby (the reader), Priya (the jock) and Mindy (the cool one) - all very different but all animal lovers unable to have their own pets. Solution - start an after school dog walking business! Readers learn where the idea came from and how it evolved. It's harder than expected though, starting with picking up poop. There are scheduling problems, and they take on more dogs than they can handle. Their friendship becomes more and more strained until Gabby tries to do it all herself - not a good idea! It's the journey that matters as they work it all out - together - and Paws survives.
