The Princess in Black and the Giant Problem
(beautifully illustrated by LeUyen Pham) is the seventh in this delightful chapter book series, aimed at young readers aged five to eight.
A
s the story opens, the kingdom is covered in snow, and Princess Magnolia misses her twelve princess friends. She and unicorn Frimplepants head out for a playdate. The Princesses in Black and in Blankets join her as does Duff the Goat Boy. They make and battle a snow monster. Then a giant foot smashes it flat and a giant voice roars '
SQUASHY!
'
W
hat to do? The Princess in Blankets sends the Sparkle Signal and very many new heroes quickly join those already trying to stop the giant squashing everything. Together they make a large playpen to enclose the giant, but then he cries and whimpers - and they hear '
BOOMS
'. Can you guess what causes them?
W
ell, it makes all these heroes laugh - and then thoroughly enjoy their interrupted, but expanded playdate party. This cute series is all about friendship and teamwork.
