The book is based on the TV series, Peg + Cat. The text is simple, with short sentences and repeated words and phrases. The pictures are bright and very appealing, as Peg and Cat have fun in the bath as they 'do math' together. Three rocks rock a boat, then sink it. More and more animals jump in the tub. Notions of more and less and zero are introduced. A splash shows subtraction in action. This early reader does a nice job of communicating simple math (and weight) concepts, while developing basic reading skills. Kids can experiment in their own bath, though the splashing might be a problem.
