Here's an important picture book, written and illustrated by a Caldecott Honor winning author who immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico in 1994. She tells her story here, beginning with her dream to have a child, a dream that became a reality.

Then comes crossing a bridge 'outstretched like the universe', to become immigrants. Morales shows mistakes made, 'Thousands and thousands of steps' taken, to reach ... a library. She tells us 'Books became our language. Books became our home. Books became our lives.' She and her son learned to speak and write 'and to make our voices heard.'

This wonderful volume is all about dreaming, resilience, hope and 'Love Amor Love'. It deserves a wide audience.
