T
he idea behind
Wanda's Better Way
is a great, innovative one, but Laura Pedersen's story starts in a rather clunky and confusing way.
W
e are placed right into the book with no explanation of who the characters are, or why Wanda would rather reorganize the dressing room than go to dance class.
T
he following two vignettes make more sense as there is a little more explanation behind the characters and situations, but the rocky start really throws off the enjoyment.
P
enny Weber's illustrations, though, are realistic, and help show Wanda's thoughts, in the process, saving the story.
