The enchanting Brigade has returned with their third adventure. What a night the Brigade has! An evening of star gazing turns into a nightmare for the endearing Dawn, Bismark, and Tobin.

I find this volume to be the funniest yet of this fun series for middle-grade readers aged eight to twelve years old. Bismark is particularly ripe with his cleverly funny quips and melodramatic nature which are fueled by the misfortunes of poor Tobin.

Wait a minute! What's so funny about unfortunate events? Let's just say it involves a fallen star, poisoned pomelos with a side of geyserrhea (don't ask!)

What is the cure for all the animals, including Tobin, who eat the poisoned pomelos? Special blue flowers. But they've disappeared. Ugly Aye-Aye Iris, along with her band of star creatures and ring of lemurs, seem to be behind the disappearance of the blue flowers.

Shy and reserved Tobin inadvertently helps the Brigade solve this mystery. A Pangolin can emit noxious odors, much like a skunk. Mix that with a belly full of poisonous fruit and everyone around the gaseous Tobin are 'blown off their feet by the stinky geysers of gunk.' Geyserrhea (I warned you!).

I find this third adventure of the Brigade to be the most hilarious, rip-roaring good read! In addition to dealing with poisonous fruit and gaseous critters, Aye-Aye Iris learns a very important lesson that even humans will benefit from.
