How to go about it? Well, her parents have refused her a pet, so she claims to have lost one, a parakeet, when she meets Albert and Tom near her new home. They enlist other kids in the neighborhood and the search team grows and grows - as do Colette's embellishments of her original fib. There was never any pet, but Colette's stories enchant the other children and she quickly wins new friends. Colette's Lost Pet is a cute story about the power of imagination.
