Peter H. Reynolds' Playing from the Heart is about a child's discovery of the piano in his home - and his re-discovery of the love of music later in life.

Raj played beautifully 'without ever having taken a lesson' and his father was amazed. Then came lessons and Raj's 'songs became more familiar. Crisp and precise.' But Raj tired of the piano. He grew up, left home, and the house was very quiet.

Time passed and his father became ill, so Raj returned home. What could he do to provide comfort? His father asked for 'the song without a name', and Raj played once more '... from the heart.'
