Chuck Wood is a talented wood sculptor. In fact, Chuck has taken first prize in the Best of the Forest art competition for the past three years! So, of course, Chuck is a shoo-in to win again this year. But then Scooter Possum moves to town. Scooter seems good at everything. Talented in art, Scooter bakes the yummiest cookies to share with everyone in town, and is also super friendly. Chuck soon feels alienated by, and jealous of the newcomer. Will Scooter take Chuck's art title away as well as all of Chuck's friends? Is there room in town for both the woodchuck and possum? I enjoyed curling up with this cute chapter book for young readers. The whimsical color illustrations on every page are a delight to behold. And the story teaches youngsters the important lesson of losing graciously, and that one cannot have too many friends.
