he two kitties in this picture book are creatures of habit. Black Cat only goes out at night while White Cat is strictly a daytime feline. This situation changes when the two cats meet and each decides to explore the other's comfort zone. White cat volunteers to be Black Cat's guide to daylight rambles while Black Cat offers to do the same during the night for White Cat.

oth animals discover new and exciting things that they didn't know existed because of their limited explorations during the past. Perhaps even more importantly, the two animals now have cemented a new friendship that will pay some interesting dividends in the future too.

haring discoveries with a friend is obviously a worthwhile and exciting experience. These two new friends underscore how much fun this can be.
W
ith its black and white illustrations and simple narrative, this book will also work nicely for youngsters just beginning to manage their own reading. After a few shared sessions with mom, dad or another family member, the young reader should be able to handle most of the text by himself/herself.
