The two buddies enjoy doing everything together until a third youngster (Tom) appears on the scene and then there may be a problem. Will all three boys share the same interests or will there be a fragmentation of the original duo? When a young child has a best friend, this type of situation can eventually develop where a third person can shatter the relationship. Fortunately in this story, we see how a potentially difficult change in the dynamics of the small group can work out so that everyone is happy. You'll want to share this picture book with your child because sooner or later he or she will probably experience a relationship alteration like this.
