and I definitely recommend reading them in order. Having missed the first book, I found it challenging to work out the back stories of the myriad of characters in this second episode.

he lead is young Sensitive Clara Templeton, ward of U.S. Senator Rupert Bishop, though their feelings for each other transcend that relationship. Complicating matters, Clara has just lost the love of many lives, Louis Dupris, whose ghost is desperate to communicate with her how he and other Eterna Commission members were brutally murdered, and the great peril that she now faces from a dread power invoked by evil Summoner Beauregard Moriel.

imilar roles are played in Victorian England by the secret service's Omega Division, whose own scientists have also been killed - they wonder if the Americans are at fault. Omega's Harold Spire sends a team, including his best agent, Rose Everhart, overseas to find out. And it's not only supernatural forces at play here - electricity has been discovered and will influence events as well.
A
fter misunderstandings are resolved, Clara and Rose bond deeply (despite the fact that it was prophesied that Clara would be the death of Rose) and together, Eterna and Omega agents fight a terrifying evil unleashed on two continents. Of course, they do win the day eventually but we know there will be more battles ahead.
