Linda Bailey and Geneviève Godbout give their take on it in When Santa Was a Baby. Infant Santa was definitely different. He boomed 'Ho, Ho, Ho!' instead of gurgling. He grew up, choosing red over other colors (firefighting in his future?); giving away all his gifts (generous!); training his hamsters to pull a mini-sleigh (creative!); seeking cooler climes and climbing chimneys! Yes, he was different. But his doting parents weren't daunted. And, as we all know, he followed his childhood dreams - and 'His parents are so proud they could burst!' Though it's all a little contrived, this cute story emphasizes that it's okay to be different and important to follow your own dreams.
