In Snow White and the 77 Dwarfs, written by Davide Cali and edgily illustrated by Raphaelle Barbanegre, there are seventy-seven of the little guys, and they create constant turmoil! The story opens just as we expect with young Snow White fleeing the wicked witch. She's offered refuge in return for chores, but soon finds she's in for a lot more than she bargained for, beginning with remembering seventy-seven names! Then there's the laundry, beard maintenance, individual bedtime stories, breakfast, packed lunches, dinner and dishes. The kind dwarfs are 'also messy, rambunctious, naughty and VERY, VERY LOUD.' What is a girl to do? You'll have to read the book to find out this Snow White's happy ending - but if you're reading it with a babysitter, she will certainly relate.
