hen Bee, the child in this book, wakes up, she is quite excited because this is the day her family leaves on vacation. They'll be off for an island adventure where they will swim and explore their surroundings.

efore the family leaves, though, the household pets must be made ready for being left behind. While some will be boarded, others will have to take care of themselves. While she's getting her pets ready, Bee thinks about all the fun she'll soon be having.

rankly, this is a book I had mixed emotions about. I found the narrative was hard to follow because of the many different typefaces used and the fact that it rambled all over the place and lacked coherency. The illustrations were very amateurish and not that eye appealing. They have a very childlike quality, which makes sense because a child apparently did do some of them.
A
lthough I wouldn't want to read this book a second time, I realize there is no accounting for a child's taste. I have to admit that some children might find this quite interesting and like it very much. My advice would be to not purchase the book until you have shown it to the intended reader. If he or she gives it a
thumbs up
, then buy it.
