That's what occurs to the little girl in this story. It appears her family has to downsize to a small apartment after losing their house. As the child sees the familiar furniture and even her bike sold off to strangers, she has problems dealing with the situation. Not fully understanding the need to downsize, the little girl just realizes that her life is changing in some ways she doesn't care for. And, when a woman jokingly asks if she is for sale, the child breaks down in tears. This is a touching book and one that does underscore the fact that the family will remain together in these hard times. I don't think this story is for all youngsters, but it will, perhaps, help a family facing this type of dilemma to explain what is happening to their little ones.
