t seems everyone in Marilyn's class has a monster except Marilyn. She has been patient and waiting for her own personal monster to appear or find her, and so far nothing has happened.
T
he longer the wait, the more frustrated the little girl becomes. Even her brother has a monster that hangs out with him. After trying just about everything to attract a monster she can call her own, Marilyn is about ready to give up.
T
hen she takes a more proactive approach and goes out looking for a monster. And, guess what? That is the right thing to do because the little girl discovers that her own personal monster has been looking for her, but he got lost and then stuck in a tree.
O
nce she rescued the little fellow Marilyn could relax because now she had her own monster and he was the best ever!
T
his is not only a cute story but the illustrations make it even better. Monsters may not grow on trees but, in this instance, they can get trapped in them. Because this little girl refused to give up, she was finally rewarded and found the ideal companion.
