It begins on a shelf with other books including 'Books for racing through quickly and books for savoring slowly.' A boy, sent to the study for a time out, finds this rather ordinary little book and starts to read. 'The silence of reading slowly filled the room ...' The good little book clicked with the boy. 'It dazzled him and stumped him and made him laugh and gasp.' He read and re-read again and again. It was his loyal companion until the unthinkable happened. Fortunately, 'a good little book never completely goes away.' Anyone who remembers the joy of discovery of an early favorite in reading will click with The Good Little Book.
