This is Sadie
(illustrated by Julie Morstad) does a beautiful job of celebrating the joy of a child's imagination and interior life.
T
hough the first page shows Sadie in a cardboard box, she tells us that '
she's not inside the box at all. "I'm in an enormous boat, ... crossing a wide, wide sea."
' She continues to have a perfect day with her friends - '
Some of them live on her street, and some live in the pages of books.
'
W
e learn about many places that Sadie's own imagination, enhanced by what she reads in books, takes her - '
So many things / to make / and do / and be.
' Sadie is a delight and
This is Sadie
tells her story very well.
