B
eautifully illustrated, this picture book takes the reader to a rural setting where a sunny day is interrupted by a thunderstorm that rolls on off the sea and drenches the farm.
A
fter quite a downpour the sun fights through the clouds and the day ends on a warm note, although it is rather wet outdoors. The two children who live on the farm naturally go outdoors with their puppies and play in the puddles.
T
he text is very sparse but that's not a major concern as you will purchase this book because you are attracted to the art. This is the kind of book I'd keep handy to pull out when a storm threatens to ruin a day.
L
et your child page through it looking at the pictures, or you can sit down together and share it. Either way, you'll find
Blue on Blue
to be a good way of showing your little one that storms don't last long and there will soon be sunshine again!
