E
xceptional paper engineering sets this pop-up book apart and makes it a volume that both children (four and older) and adult collectors will want to own.
Y
ou'll discover how seven creatures use their special skills to construct their homes or places where they can find peace and food. The opening pop-up features a hummingbird and her small nest. That is followed by a very eye-catching spider and its '
Loom of Doom
'; a cutout of a honeybee's hive; a huge potter wasp nest; and a beaver dam. The final two pop-ups picture a stickleback fish's underwater nest, and a composite foldout of a number of creatures' domiciles.
N
ot only is the art here excellent but the narrative that accompanies each foldout is also very informative. This is a novelty book that will be a welcome addition to anyone's collection of books of this type.
