Not only does it show how interesting science can be but it also takes complex material and uses stylish graphics to make the information understandable to a young reader (third grade and up). The seven chapters in this book provide a look at the universe, galaxies and stars, the solar system, the sun, the Earth and moon, observing space and exploring space. Tabs enable the reader to find the section he/she wants quickly. Admittedly the chapters aren't lengthy but thanks to the graphics, there is a lot of information crammed onto each page. Use this book as an introduction to space and then, once the child's curiosity is piqued, find more detailed books that will allow for a deeper investigation of the topic. Teachers and parents home schooling will find this an excellent resource and a good starting point for a unit on any aspect of space study.
