As they walk around they are very aware of the colorful things around them. The young reader is invited to enjoy and identify many of these objects. For example, the Blue page shows Bear splashing in some water while Mouse holds a blue flower. The Red section follows red flowers and fruits like cherries and raspberries. As Bear and Mouse continue on, they meet forest friends who join them and, naturally, they see other brightly colored things. When we get to the end of the duo's walk it is time to share a picnic with everyone. Also, the reader will be challenged to identify all the colored objects featured in the two page picnic spread. There's yellow corn, green peas, yellow honey and much, much more. The Bear and Mouse picture books have become very popular with young readers and this latest volume is one of the best thus far.
