ertainly this is an unusual picture book, but it is one that will fascinate and hold an older child's (7 years and up) attention for quite a while. Unfold this stunning accordion book and it will stretch out more than two and a half feet.
W
hat you will be looking at is a panorama of New York City. The author then challenges the viewer to find over eighty objects and figures in the scene. But wait, there's more!
O
n the reverse side of this lengthy scene you'll find cutaways that reveal the city behind the scene you have just studied. You'll see inside buildings and the Statue of Liberty. Look closely and you'll notice some rather odd activities and characters as well.
T
here is not a narrative here or a story, but the more one scrutinizes this foldout the more one will hone one's powers of observation. Look carefully because there's a lot going on here!
