A
s you'll quickly see when you read this picture book, nobody owns me. I own myself. '
I work like a dog all day. When I get home, I fetch my own slippers. I curl up at my own feet.
'
Y
ou'll see that I don't
sit
when someone tells me to and I never retrieve things like balls or sticks.
N
ow as you get further into my story you'll discover that one day I did let a person scratch my back. Of course, that started something and '
the little guy followed me home
'. Because I felt sorry for him, I let him stay. Then I taught him how to use a leash, throw sticks, and learn commands like '
Sit, sit. Good boy.
'
T
his person is kind of messy. So I have to clean up after him. But because I have grown used to having him around, I think I'll keep him. '
Between you and me, I'm his best friend.
'
I
think you'll really like my book which offers a different (and funny) look at the relationships between wonderful dogs, like me, and the humans we hang out with. Someone told me there is
role-reversal
in this book. I'm not sure what that means but it sounds serious. Perhaps you can figure it out.
