Daisylocks isn't happy where she is now and asks the wind to take her to a new place where she can set down roots. After a number of attempts in places that are either too cold, too hot, too hard or too wet, the daisy seeds find the ideal environment and take hold. Nice, colorful illustrations show the little seeds' migration and stress the characteristics of the different habitats that the Daisy visits before finding the perfect home. There are also some learning activities at the end of the book that will engage the young reader and allow for a little more study of how seeds need just the right place to grow. You won't find too many picture books that address this topic in story form and allow young children to easily grasp the concept that the wind can spread plant seeds and, if they find the right environment, the seeds will sprout.
