The Frog Who Lost His Underpants    by Juliette MacIver & Cat Chapman Order:  USA  Can Candlewick, 2014 (2014) Hardcover     Reviewed by Bob Walch A distraught frog is featured in this picture book because some dastardly villains have taken his underpants. 'Help me! Help me! What became of dignity? They stole my underpants!' cries the poor frog. Enlisting the aid of a friendly teddy bear, chimpanzee, and elephant, the frog launches a search for his missing red briefs. You'll be surprised who the culprits were when the missing undies are finally located. I think how the problem is resolved is also rather a humorous shocker as well. This rhymed nonsensical story is fun to read and I have a feeling youngsters in the three to four year old age group will think it is quite funny. Don't worry about the lack of logic or the fact that teddy bears don't hang out in the jungle and frogs don't wear undies ... just accept this tale for what it is ... a silly picture book about frogs and underwear.
