This is a very cool bug book that doesn't get bogged down in the formal names of all the insects pictured. Rather, the author's rhymed, minimalist text explains what bugs do. They crawl, flutter, sometimes bite and sting, occasionally fight with one another, and will even curl up in a ball if you threaten them.

While some bugs hop from place to place, others swim, and a few actually take to the air and fly. Bugs love to hide under leaves and in trees, and some even look like sticks. Some bugs make clicking noises; others seem to sing; and a few actually buzz.

By the time your youngster is finished with this picture book with its cartoon illustrations of bugs, he or she will know a lot about what bugs do. So, naturally, you'll want to go outside and find a few of these little critters in their natural habitats.

If you are curious about the actual names of all these insects, you'll find the names and illustrations matched up at the end of the book. Enjoy learning about what bugs do and how they live in this highly entertaining overview of these little creatures.
